A great all-round team effort from Seamer B saw them edge to a one-wicket win at Forge Valley in Division C of the AndyHire Scarborough & District Evening Cricket League.

Reggie Steels bagged 2-13, Robbie Palmer-Jenkinson 2-2 and Gaz Walters 2-3 in just six balls as Seamer dismissed Valley for 72, Alex Richards top-scoring with an unbeaten 24.

Brilliant bowling from Matthew Nettleton (3-8), Steven Bates (3-25) and Charles Tindall (2-21) brought Valley to the brink of victory, but Steve Winwood’s 10no saw them safely home after Connor Myerscough had earlier struck 21.

Ravenscar opened their account for the season with a 23-run win at Muston.

Seth Wray-Eccles struck 25 and fellow opener Ciaran Bartram 20 as the visitors posted 80-4, then Salman Yahya, Michael Bull and Gerald Smith all took two wickets apiece as Muston limped to 57-7.

Elliot Hatton’s 46no steered Flixton to a seven-wicket win at Staxton in Division A.

Connor Stephenson added 28 and Will Hutchinson 25 as the visitors chased down Staxton’s 120-5, with Ryan Baldry having hit 42 and Charlie Colley taken 3-23.

Joe Dunnett’s brilliant 79 from 46 balls helped Ebberston earn a 30-run home success against Heslerton.

The hosts posted 129-4 and Heslerton could only manage 99-4 in reply despite Kristian Wilkinson’s 56no.

Seamer eased to a nine-wicket win at Scarborough.

Archie Graham snapped up 3-6 from only six balls, with two wickets apiece from Darcy Waller, Caeleb Potter and Matty Morris as the hosts were skittled for 64. Graham capped a superb match with 42no to seal the win.

Scalby won by seven wickets at home to Brompton.

Ben Jarvis struck 31no as the visitors posted 112-4.

Aayat Khanna’s 30no, allied to Matty Jones’ 28 guided Scalby to victory.

Kingsley Gray was the all-round star as Ganton won by 36 runs at home to Ebberston B in Division B.

Gray hit 31 and Freddie Bradley 29no as the hosts rallied from 39-8 to 107-9, George Hardie bagged 4-9 and Simon Fletcher 3-29.

Gray then snapped up 3-13 and Will Megginson 4-6 as Ebberston collapsed from 59-3 to 71 all out, Mike Eyre top-scoring with 29.

Ben Simpson’s 50 helped Sherburn win by 34 runs at home to Snainton.
